Tantie
Lorraine's

From Trinidad to Surrey, London

In Trinidad and Tobago, "tantie" means auntie. Lorraine was born and raised in the countryside, brought up by aunts and grandmothers, and that is where she learnt to value fresh, natural ingredients.

The brand was born out of a shortage. The chilli jelly brought over from Trinidad ran out and there was nowhere to buy it in the UK, so Lorraine decided to make it herself. The first batch sold out at a local farmers' market; the rest is history.

Handmade in small batches

For around ten years, the recipes were perfected in her home kitchen in Surrey, London, in the evenings and at weekends. In Portugal, the range starts with four chilli jams.

Everything is handmade in small batches, with fresh, natural ingredients and no artificial preservatives or additives.

Scotch Bonnet Jam received two stars at the 2024 Great Taste Awards, the highest rating in the range to date.
